The history of the Kotor Winter Carnival goes back several hundred years. Nowadays, it is a very popular, bright and merry event! According to tradition, the final parade is always scheduled on the last Sunday in February, in 2020 it was the 23rd of February.
The joyful parade set out on the main street of Kotor at 3 pm.
At the head of the procession are Big and Small Kapo.
The majorettes from the Fešta club are next.
Different age groups performed at the carnival, from older girls ...

And here is the first carnival group — Dalmatians. Coincidentally, this group won the First Prize this year.
And it was, by far, the largest group. Amazingly, 876 participants dressed as Dalmatian puppies!

The student organization of the Maritime Faculty Kotor made Matryoshka dolls this year.
Girls from the Tivat majoret club Modest performed a dance with pompoms.
Now the mice are not boys, but young men, followed by pieces of cheese.
This Grabovac Nursing Home from Risan came up with the slogan “It's Never too Late!”. The participants were dressed as brides and grooms.

Actors of the Theater 303 have been participating in the Kotor Winter Carnival for many years. 2020 was no exception.

And here is a favorite carnival theme — sweets. The Candy Hop team offered cupcakes, candy floss and lollipops.

During the parade, the musicians performed a perky march.
Finally, a huge carnival doll! It was blamed for all the troubles that happened in the city over the past year.
The villain was expectedly sentenced to death by burning and was immediately executed on the pier.
The central square of the Old Town welcomed guests to the concert by the local group Tri Kvarta and the popular Croatian singer Jelena Rozga. It was the final point in the Kotorski Zimski Karneval 2020!
