The Reževići Monastery is in the middle of an old olive grove near the town of Petrovac.
The first church built in the monastery complex (the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin) was founded by King Stefan the First-Crowned in 1226. The second church, St. Stephen's, was built by Tsar Dušan, but over the course of numerous wars it was destroyed and a third church, the Holy Trinity, was built in its place. In the past, the Russian Empire made significant financial contributions to the restoration of the monastery.
The Reževići Monastery is now included in the list of cultural and historical monuments of Montenegro as well as under the protection of UNESCO.
