The monument to Ivan Crnojevic is located on Cetinje's Castle Square, in front of King Nikola's museum. The monument was opened in 1983 and sculpted by Ante Grzetic.
Ivan Crnojevic was the leader of Zeta (the country that once existed on the territory of modern Montenegro) from 1465 to 1490. In 1484 he built the Crnojevic Monastery, now called the Cetinje Monastery, thus founding the city of Cetinje.
The remains of the leader are kept in the Church of the Nativity of Mary (or the Church on Chipura), near the monument.
