For a long time, any street bar with two sorts of beer would be called a pub in Budva. Local admirers of craft beer knew by heart a few places where they can try something other then standard Montenegrin Niksicko brand or popular international varieties like Kozel or Tuborg.
But this summer it happened — Akademija Piva — Beer Academy Bar and Restaurant opened in the very center of Budva, just a minute walk from the Old Town.
And it is a very beautiful and spacious place with a large terrace overlooking the park and promenade area.
The vast menu includes classic European dishes — luscious tartare steak, for example, and of course, a variety of craft beer from local breweries, from lager to pale ale or indian pale ale.
Ask your waiter to tell you about each type of beer or — even better — order a free! sample set. A large glass of beer, 0.5 liter, costs 3.5 – 4 Euros, a small one (0.33l) — about 2 Euros.
During the season, the place is a bit noisy from the crowd on the terrace and live music, but young cheerful people will feel great here.
