The Bay of Kotor, with its rich history, literally takes you into the depths of time. Many tourists come to visit Kotor and the nearby islands, discover the Roman mosaics in Risan and enjoy a cup of coffee in the magical city of Perast. But do not forget about relaxed beach vacation. If you travel here by car, you see many road signs pointing to a beach, and every place is unique in its own way.
Dobrota
A long — 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) — beach in the village of Dobrota near Kotor. It is partly concrete and partly pebble, and perfect for a lazy stroll. The name Dobrota means hospitality, generosity and, truly, this beach has everything for relaxing pastime.
Kostanjica
Beautiful beaches lay side by side around the Bay of Kotor. To get to Kostanjica, carefully follow the signs on the road. The hidden pebbly and sandy beach is surrounded by old chestnut trees (hence its name Kostanjica or Chestnut). It is perfect for tourists who seek solitude and silence. There is no amenities or restaurants, so bring your food and drinks.
Ljuta plaža
Ljuta means angry in English, but this unkind epithet has no relation to the beach, it is the name of the neighboring river. The beach is sandy and concrete, with piers for boats and — mostly — divers. And there is a parking, restaurants and cafes nearby.
Muo
Tiny concrete beach without umbrellas or cabanas. There is no official parking also, so leave your car by the road or moor your boat to the pier. Many cafes and restaurants are in close proximity.
Prčanj
A picturesque place with an incredible view of the Bay of Kotor. The beach is sandy and pebbly and has umbrellas, sun beds, showers, cafes and a pier.
Risan
A sizable public beach in the northern part of the village of Risan, next to the Teuta Hotel. A part of the beach is reserved for the hotel guests, and the rest is open to all visitors. There is beach equipment, free parking, an ambulance and restaurants nearby.
Perast
This charming town has mansions, churches, hotels, shops, restaurants, and, of course, the beach. It is small and made from concrete, but the sunbathers love to jump into the water from its pier.
The whole town in season is only for pedestrians, there are paid parking lots on the outskirts with very limited number of places, so it is better to travel to Perast by boat.
Svetog Matije Plaža
Next to the church of Sv. Matija, miniature and concrete, but picturesque beach. Despite its size, it offers everything you need for leisure by the sea, sun loungers with umbrellas, cabanas, showers, parking and cafe.
Morinj
One of the few beaches in the Bay of Kotor that are suitable for families with small children — it is sandy and pebbly with shallow water. There is a good restaurant and a beach club, and you can rent a sunbed and an umbrella.
Stoliv
Beautiful leafy village of Stoliv dates back to the XIV century. According to the local legend, the name means one hundred olives. Its concrete beach is quite small and has no infrastructure, but there are many cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as a parking lot and a pier.
Orahovac
Surrounded by high mountains, under the shade of palm trees spreads atmospheric cozy beach. It is about one kilometer (0.6 mile) long, with pebbles and sand. Despite all necessary infrastructure and convenient location, the beach is rarely crowded even in high season.
Bajova Kula Plaža
Very nice, clean and quiet place near the historical object — the defensive tower of Bajova Kula. The tower was built in the 17th century by the national hero of Montenegro, Bajo Pivljanin, during the independence wars with the Turks. And there is a tasty and stylish restaurant and a beach bar.
Markov Rt Plaža
The Markov Cape is perhaps one of the best beaches in the Bay of Kotor. It is perfect for tourists who appreciated privacy and scenic views. The coastal part is wide, with a gradual entry into the water, there are sunbeds, umbrellas and showers, cafes and parking lot.
Park-URC Plaža
At the mouth of the river Škudra, not far from the Old Town of Kotor, along the walking area hides the beach Parc-URC. Here you can dive into the water directly from the restaurant windows. Other advantages include a city park and a swimming pool, a full set of infrastructure, cafes and restaurants.
